what kind of damage is barbs? i'm guessing shadow/dark, armor ignoring damage? that sucks

It appears to be typeless, armour ignoring damage. The fact it's armour ignoring is the important bit, the fact it's typeless just means there is nothing specific to counter it (apart from outright damage reduction).

whats bad about armor ignoring? no way to counter it either unless you take it off.

Shielding Hands, Shield of Absorption, Stoneflesh Aura, etc.
Those are more than capable of reducing the damage from Barbs to 0.

Stone Striker will counter the physical damage that was done to trigger Barbs,but won't (or at least shouldn't) work on the Barbs damage packet which is un-typed armor ignoring
